Today on The Locksmith Show Locksmith Charley, Andrew and Ryan from Andrew's Lock and Key discuss their Google findings on the locksmith scam taking over the search engine as well as several other industries. They also talk about a job on a 2005 Honda Civic where the lock code was difficult to read in order to program the key. The job turned a little difficult but Ryan made light of the situation by doing a little "happy dance" after the job was successfully completed. Charley and Andrew also talked about further equipping their vehicle with dash cameras and other audio/visual equipment for getting on the spot testimonials from clients when the jobs are completed. They speak about 2001 Toyota Solara that has a salvage title and has two keys to operate the vehicle, a door key and an ignition key.
They speak with three callers, a mystery locksmith, about automotive rekeying and security tips when buying a new vehicle.
Daniel a door installer out of Flagstaff, AZ working at hospitals and other commercial facilities. They spoke about the 247locksmiths which is a known scam in the locksmith industry. Daniel's dad got locked out of his car and got scammed. The "locksmith" doesn't give him a price upfront and then charges him $250 for a simple car opening. Andrew recommended that his dad issues a complaint to get the money back.
And lastly and most importantly they spoke with a listener whose son has a 1998 Chevy Malibu which had recall on the key ignition making the vehicle not start. They explain what may be going on with the switch and why it's not allowing him to get it to turn. The listener says they took it to a mechanic and were told that they just need to put a new piece in which would cost $800, Andrew reassured her that they would be able to fix it for far less than that price once they are able to take a look at it.
