This weeks show was a good one. We had Tom Lynch, the director of the Society of Professional Locksmiths, call in and we ended up chatting with him for the entire show. We talked a little bit about how SoPL is doing as well as what they are currently working on. They are planning a big revamp of their local locksmith directory as well as some more updates to their locksmith training material.
We spent some time talking about the pros and cons of search engines and how the industry and the country as a whole has gotten away from phone books. With search engines and listing websites taking over as the method for finding local service providers there has been an undeniable surge of scammers in all service industries. Some companies have abandon internet marketing because it can be difficult to try and come out above the scammers. It is even more difficult for Phoenix Locksmith companies to get ahead because we don't have any kind of licensing required to be a locksmith.
The scammers are always hard at work finding new ways to get ahead. Charley and Andrew found out about a scammer stealing legit local locksmith info and re-posting it on their website with a phone number that goes to their call center. Charley called the number and recorded the phone conversation. He played it back on the air for everyone to hear what a conversation with a scammer sounds like. Tom also had some advice for our listeners on how to avoid being scammed as well as some good questions to ask any locksmith you might call and what answers to look for in those questions.
All locksmiths have products they recommend to customers. It is important to always consult with the locksmith in mesa that you contact to figure out some possible vulnerable areas to have secured. Tom had some product advice for our listeners that are very common on the east coast but not so much out here. Tom also challenged our listeners to contact their local locksmith to some out and ask for a security consultation. Having a professional and legit locksmith come out and assess potential security risks is the best way to ensure your home or business is secure.
We covered a lot of different topics in this show that are important for the consumer to be aware of. We always want to make sure the public is well informed about products and services that are available to them to better secure their home and/or business. If you ever find your self in need of a Tempe locksmith, Mesa locksmith, or a locksmith in Arizona don't forget to contact Andrews Lock and Key or Locksmith Charley for all of your local locksmith needs.
