Locksmith Charley wasn't able to be with us again this week, because he was attending the Associated Locksmiths of America board of directors meeting. But Andrew and Andrew talked about catching a scammer in Tempe last week and about the importance of making sure you know how to get a hold of a professional locksmith and ask the right questions before they shows up. They also talked about a story out of Northern Virginia where a locksmith was unwittingly a partner in crime before calling the police on a job where the customer didn't have identification to verify the house was his before the locksmith opened it. But after allowing the guy to gain access to the house and finding out that he still was unable to locate working keys or identification for himself the locksmith trusted his gut and called the police which is when the guy fled on foot.
But more on catching the scammer, after showing up at Copperstate Lock and Security, Jim Anderson had a job that his company was unable to complete at the time and he asked Andrew if he received a call from a guy locked out of his Ford Fusion just down the street. Andrew called the guy and quoted him an exact price but the guy said that he had someone coming for cheaper then called back because the "cheaper" locksmith became way more expensive in the end.
